MAF-LT's video team recorded a live session of Simply The Story, an oral inductive Bible study. Laura Macias delivers "One Leper" from Mark 1:40-45 and follows with questions that has the entire group excited about finding lessons from God's Word and sharing how they apply to their lives today.

Sierra Leone revealed something when our Air France flight from Paris stopped first in Conakry, Guinea. Three-quarters of the passengers got off the plane - including the crew who would overnight there before returning to France. A rested crew took over, flew an additional 40 minutes south to drop us off in Freetown, Sierra Leone, then headed north for home.

Tony Okullu in Uganda calls this the “Church Based Mobile Bible School.” MAF-LT provides a 5 Gigabyte hard drive of Christian materials, many of which are audio files. Tony downloads a teaching series on the MP3 players and sends them out via a network of Christian coordinators who share them with pastors and Christian leaders in the villages of their district. Naveen is seeing many come to Christ and he is actively developing leaders for the many new groups of believers where he works. The challenge is that many of them don’t read or write even one word. He is asking MAF LT to help him develop leadership development materials that he can use with these leaders.
What do “materials” for non-literates look like? What are the issues in transforming training materials written for lettered cultures into materials for oral cultures?
