Simply The Story (STS) provides an in-depth process of exploring biblical truths using Bible stories and group discussion. Phase One delivers a story three different ways. Phase Two is inductive Bible study, “oral style.” Storytellers learn to design questions that help the audience discover the spiritual treasures and personal applications within the story.“This is not just for missions; we can use STS in our church.”
In a one-stop, 5-day STS workshop, during the first two days people are pre-trained in a one-instructor to three-attendees ratio. Attendees learn how to present stories and how to prepare and ask questions. Then as apprentice instructors, they help train new people in a 3-day workshop with a one-apprentice to seven-attendees ratio. Instructors oversee the apprentices, helping them train the new attendees to become STS practitioners.

Zambia:“One day I was walking along the road and I saw the MP3 with some one I do not know. So I took interest to ask where he got it. It was very up lifting to hear that that person had travelled 750 kilometers with the mp3, borrowed from one of the persons who attended the meeting with you when you came. That very mp3 had gone through 25 pastors listen and taking notes from the teachings. I immediately responded and made CDs to send to the brothers to share among themselves. Now I can not switch my phone on, calls come from all over Zambia.” Michael Mutale
