Submitted by Brad Rhoads on
Dear Brad,
We would like to say thank you for everything that you have doing for us. We love you and miss you. Thank you for helping to wide Gods Kingdom in Central Asia. Please, continue to pray for us and the ministry in Central Asia.
First person who visited a church after calling us.
E is 24 years old. After graduating from the University, major in ecology, he left to work in Russia. While in Russia, he visited some evangelical services! E returned to Central Asia and worked in a cafeteria. Unfortunately, he lost his job. Staying at home, he saw a crawling line (TV announcement) on TV about spiritual support, “Line of Hope.” When he heard the Gospel, his reaction was positive and joyous. After few invitations, E visited a local church service. Now E is a student in a Military School and he has dreams for his future.
Recently we got phone call from G again and was so glad that she called. As you know the connection with her was lost. Now two of our sisters meeting with her. She has some fears to go to church. Please pray for her.
The story of three girls.
Twice a year we go to the different regions of Central Asia to conduct seminars on subjects of AIDS, abortion, and drug addiction. We also distribute booklets, “Love, Dating, and Marriage.” Last year we met K at one of our seminars. After that seminar, our female staff began to correspond with her and share the Gospel via Mail Agent (internet chat). This year she entered the University and since September she has been coming to our Bible study group and women’s time with two of her friends, A and T. They are goal-oriented, open, and enthusiastic.
They visit us six times a week, and every time someone from our team shares how he or she got to know Jesus personally. These girls want to learn about Jesus more and more.
A is the eldest in her family. She is very outgoing that is why her friends respect her opinion. We found a common language with A right away. Later, we met her third friend, T. She is very talented; she sings and plays instrument. They come to our office every day and feel like home, sharing their news and thoughts. They like our fellowship, atmosphere, kindness, and advice. They often say that they want to work with us as volunteers. When we had lunch together, these girls were amazed that we always thank God in a prayer.
Once A got into a fight with her group mates. She and K came to talk to us. They felt deep resentment and wanted revenge. After our advice and support, they calmed down and forgave their offenders. During every meeting we try to help them and nurture them with spiritual food. We always pray for them and share testimony about Jesus. They consider themselves Muslims in birth, but they are very interested in what we are sharing.
We visited elderly couple who had no one to take care of them besides their twelve-year-old grandson. We heard about that family from the local TV reporting. This couple is more than eighty years old and they hardly walk so neighbors cook them food. Their house was awfully dirty so our team and girls cleaned it. Our partner bought them groceries for a whole month, a ton of coal, and two powerful heaters. This family was very happy. K, A, and T went with us and help there. They are were really enjoyed it.
After this trip, we decided to show the girls “Magdalena” film. They watched attentively and with interest and had different reactions. K was very confused because she strongly believed in her religion. But she went home and told to her sister about her impression of watching “Magdalena” and said to her “ I think I can go to a paradise because of Jesus Christ”. A was very calm and remained on the same opinion she had before. T was very interested. She went home and told to her sister about her impression of watching “Magdalena” and said to the sister: “I think I can go to a paradise because of Jesus Christ”.
They decided to read the Bible and they have a desire to learn about God. We gave them three Bibles. Now they are reading the Bible and when they come to the office they are sharing with us what they did learn from passages they have read.
Please, pray that A, K, and T would believe in the Lord and find the joy of salvation.
Prayer requests:
- Praise the Lord for the opportunity to share the Gospel to these girls
- Praise for first person who came to the church from our phone ministry and that G called us again
- Praise for another three girls came to Christ and one of them going through new “believer’s lessons”
- Pray for teenage prison ministry: having event for Christmas in December
- Pray for Mail Agent: that all our 3000 friends be able hear the Gospel
With love,
M, A and I
