Manley Ministry Update - Senegal

Dear Praying Friends,

Regina In Africa

Regina left almost 2 weeks ago to direct two Bible Storytelling workshops in Senegal, Africa.

 

Ziguinchor
She completed the first one in Ziguinchor, southern Senegal, amidst interesting environmental “challenges” - dank, dusty, hot, sticky, buggy, noisy, etc.  She says Ziguinshor reminds her of Puyo, the Amazon jungle town we lived in, just not as nice. On the other hand, the workshop gave local church leaders a new way to impart God’s Word to their non-literate congregations – a way that will equip the hearers to share their new faith again and again.



Dakar
Today, she starts the second workshop in the capital, Dakar, way out on the pointy, western-most tip of Africa.  Complex city challenges are no less daunting than apparent country simplicity.  Yet, whether in dirt streets or cement canyons, for the next five days she aides another group of Senegalese church leaders confront the same enemy.   

 

Prayer & Praise:

Praise:

• The Lord sustained Regina’s energy and strength despite little sleep and other challenges
• He protected her and fellow team members traveling to and from Ziguinshor despite growing threats to foriegners
• Despite the world’s resistence a group of church leaders have, indeed, been equipped with a new tool
• Our support level has risen an average of $1,100 per month within the last year – THANK YOU!
  

Prayer:

• For the health, physical safety and mental attentivenss of all in the workshop
• For the Holy Spirit’s presence, leading and wisdom for Regina and her team of instructors
• For Regina’s travel to Chaing Mai, Thailand on 26-27 October for two more workshops
• For team member, Carolyn Bailey, and my travel to Chaing Mai also on 26-27 October for the same two workshops.  Regina & I return to the US on 22 November.
• For our support level to continue to climb to the level MAF requires
