Send your Spanish-speaking friends to YouTube to see what a small group Bible study would look like when using oral strategies! MAF-LT's video team recorded a live session of Simply The Story, an oral inductive Bible study. Laura Macias delivers "One Leper" from Mark 1:40-45 and follows with questions that has the entire group excited about finding lessons from God's Word and sharing how they apply to their lives today.

Enabling Open Collaboration in a Mobile World
Submitted by jclark on Fri, 02/03/2012 - 14:07As a missionary in a far off land, have you ever wanted to translate evangelistic material, discipleship resources, or a good training guide into the language of the people you're trying to reach? Have you ever wondered if it's legal to do so if you or your organization did not create the resources? Do you know how to get permission to translate the resource?
Tim Jore of Distant Shores Media and Door 43 discusses these issues and many more in his recent presentation at the Mobile Ministry Forum consultation. See the MMF Blog for videos of more interesting topics covered at the December 2011 consultation meeting.

Richard Morris Injured in Miami Accident
Submitted by jmanley on Tue, 02/07/2012 - 09:45
Richard Morris, Director of MAF-Learning Technologies, was injured last night when he was struck by a car while crossing a street in Miami.
Richard is currently at Kendall Regional Medical Center, where he had a CAT scan. He has lacerations on his head as a result of striking the pavement, but there are no broken bones.
Allan Carrington of the University of Adelaide, who was with Richard when the accident occurred, shared the following:
"We all were in to see him after they stitched his wound in his head and he is in amazing condition for the accident severity. Actually the three of us who witnessed it have agreed that there is absolutely no doubt this is a miracle. He was hit and thrown high in the air and hit the pavement hard. The fact there was no broken bones and only the wound to his head is amazing.
Under the circumstances he was in good spirits and very coherent, asking me to do things .... he must be OK when he does this, eh? We sang a hymn and prayed for him and left him resting.”
At this time it is uncertain how long Richard will remain in Miami or whether his wife, Patricia, will join him there. Please pray for Richard’s speedy recovery, giving praise to God that things were not more serious.

Update on Richard Morris
Submitted by jmanley on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 10:10Richard remains in intensive care at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami for injuries sustained when he was struck by a car Monday night. The CAT scan did not show any serious injuries; he is undergoing an MRI this afternoon. Richard is experiencing pain in his hand and neck.
Richard will likely be in the hospital for several more days. His wife, Patricia, will arrive in Miami Wednesday morning. He is currently being attended by his good friends Vishal and Ruth Mangalwadi who were with him in Miami at the time of the accident. A local pastor and former surgical nurse who visited Richard today shared that his spirits are up, he is breathing on his own, speaking and eating on his own. He is able to speak and listen, which is apparently quite impressive for someone who was hit as hard as he was.
Please pray for Richard’s healing and for relief from the pain. For the doctors and other care providers. For Patricia as she travels and attends to her husband. For Vishal and Ruth -- Vishal especially has not slept for over 24 hours and was already on a very rigorous travel schedule and quite tired. He and Ruth are delaying their departure to Guatemala for a commitment there until Patricia arrives and they can connect with her.

MAF-LT Helps Train Southeast Asia Pilots
Submitted by jmanley on Mon, 02/13/2012 - 10:31
MAF-LT staff member, Ron Banks, is on assignment in Southeast Asia aiding the development of a national pilot training facility. Ron's specific task is constructing a flight simulator, a clear demonstration of technology enhancing education. Flight simulators find increasing roles in recurrent and ab-inicio pilot training. They offer not only significant cost savings, but also allow flight crews to explore maneuvers and situations impossible to reproduce safely in actual flight. Sierra Leone Story Team Reports Fruit
Submitted by jmanley on Mon, 02/13/2012 - 11:59
Sierra Leone national church leaders working with Hope Universal reported today encouraging fruit after conduction their own STS, Bible storytelling workshops. MAF-LT sent Regina Manley to this southwestern African nation last November to train an initial core Bible story tellers. Now, alumni from those workshops tell us that they ministered in five communities with drama, teaching and Bible storytelling resulting in 15 people choosing to follow Jesus.
