Technology - Tool Team
Modern IT tools remain beyond the reach of the 3rd world church
The Tool Team confronts that challenge with both soft and hardware technologies. We use existing tools like threaded forums, interactive classrooms, wikis, e-mail, solar powered audio Bibles, battery powered mp3 players, and cell phones. And, where needed, we develop our own software such as Moodle© on a Stick, DEViewer and DEScribe.
Students see or hear course materials and have direct links with instructors and fellow students – even when spread miles apart in difficult locations.
Our design criteria include:

- Works with both old and modern technology
- Serves with or without Internet access
- Uses free, open source software
